6 weeks old

Hi all! I am six weeks old now. I am getting very strong and very good at lifting my head up. This week, I heard my daddy's voice and I turned to find him and gave him the biggest smile. I think it made daddy's day! I have gotten into a good routine of sleeping in my bed for three hours in the afternoon. This gives my mom about an hour of time to herself while both Addie and I are sleeping...I am not sure why she would want that??? Then she has a good amount of time to spend with Addie when she wakes up. I love my big sister...sometimes she squeezes me a little too tightly and when she talks to me, she talks really loudly. She calls me buddy and little guy and she gets really excited when she sees me after school! She says that one day I will "trace" her around the house and that we will be best friends! My mom and dad sure hope so! I think my mom took plenty of pictures this week. Check out my cheeks...mommy calls me chunky!

Mimi came to visit us this week.

Addie loves to read Grady books!

Addie fell off the couch and had her first bloody lip. It was a traumatic experience for both me and Addie!

9.15.09

We had a busy week last week. Addie went to school and had a great time! She was disappointed on Wednesday because the playground was too muddy to play outside. Her teacher said that she LOVES snack time and music time. Addie, Grady and I left for San Antonio on Wednesday after school. This was my first trip with both of them by myself and we did great! Grady slept most of the way and Addie informed me of every move he made. We took Grady to the doctor. He had been acting like his tummy was bothering him and his spit up was getting worse. We found out he was an issue with dairy which means I am dairy free until his tummy gets better....not an easy task for me!!! They also started him on reflux medicine. Yesterday was the first day that I noticed a big change..he seems to feel better. However, we do have a chunky monkey on our hands. He weighed 9lbs, 10oz. That is how much Addie weighed at her 2 month appointment!
Here is our handsome guy at 5 weeks old. He has gotten a little bit spoiled by me over the past two weeks. I have felt sorry for him with his tummy issues and he has enjoyed many nights of sleeping in bed with me. I am now having to work on getting him back in his bed! He is still a great sleeper!!

Addie got to give Grady his first bottle this morning. He hates his reflux medicine and I thought it might help to put it in a little milk. She was beyond happy to get to feed him. She kept saying, "I am feeding Grady...this is so exciting!" She has already asked if she could give him another bottle.
I found one brownie mix at HEB that does not contain dairy and I was so excited. I have really missed sweets! Obviously Addie was excited too...she had chocolate everywhere!

She still will not go down the Chick fil a slide by herself!
It rained the entire time we were in SA. She found these items in my parents garage and had a great time outside with Grandpa.

One Month

Mr. Grady is a month old! He has started giving us occaisonal smiles. The first time he gave us a real smile (not a gas one) was on Friday night. Addie was in the bathtub and Grady and I were sitting beside it. She looked out and said, "hey grady man" in her high pitched voice and he gave her a huge grin. It was too cute!

Here is what Grady is up to at one month:

*he likes to be held more and has figured out that if he cries, he will most likely get picked up

*he is a great eater and is not really ok with me waiting 3 hours in between feedings! his cheeks
are definitely getting chunkier!

*he sleeps great at night...one night last week he slept for 6 hours...that was a treat for me!

*he loves for me to carry him in the sling- he is definitely a snuggler!

*he watches the ceiling fan and lights

*he will sleep through anything - he went to his first party on saturday night and slept through all of the noise...including the band!

*he spits up a TON! i told bryan that i am going to have to wear old tshirts every day because I am constantly covered in spit up. Addie loves it because she loves to clean off his mouth! Addie did not spit up a lot so this is new for me...I never really understood the burp cloth thing until recently!

*He is adored by his mommy, daddy and big sister!!! Here are a few pictures of Grady at one month.

"Oh great...here we go again with this crazy lady flashing bright lights in my face."
"I'll think about smiling if you put that big black flashing thing away."
"Is this smile good enough for you? I didn't think so."

"Ok lady, this is the most you are getting from me today!"

ponytails, birthdays and more

Yea!!! Addie's hair will go into a ponytail and it looks so cute! She was so proud to have a ponytail like Mommy..although hers looks much cuter than mine does!

Bryan's birthday was on Tuesday and Addie was so excited about it. She insisted on making blue cupcakes with blue frosting. She was so excited about singing him happy birthday and blowing out his candle. It was cute to see her help him open his presents and cards...she is at such a fun age and the smallest things are so thrilling to her! Happy birthday Daddy! We love you so much!

First Day of School!!!!!

Addie had her first day of school today. She was very excited to go to "cool". She was most excited about getting to take a purple juice bag with her in her backpack! She cried a little bit but her teacher said she perked up at snack time when she got to drink her juice! I shed a few tears myself but it was not me who drove back by the school to spy on her during playground time....it was her Daddy!
Last night we went to Meet the Teacher Night. She got to see her classroom and was really excited to take her teachers a cookie mix that we made!

Addie ready to go and meet her teachers!
Addie at her desk and with her friend Colin.
The first day of school...with her new backpack! She looked so cute!

3 weeks old

Grady is three weeks old! It is hard to believe...it seems like just yesterday we brought him home. However, it seems like he has always been with us. He is starting to wake up and he has definitely found his voice. When he is hungry, he lets us know!!! The past two nights, he has slept from 8:30 to 2:30 and then until 5:30 or 6. He is definitely letting me get some sleep. He loves to watch the ceiling lights and fans, he can take or leave the pacifier, and he loves to look around for Addie when he hears her voice. That is really cute to see...although he is probably thinking "why hasn't anyone told her that she doesn't always need to talk so loudly???" He went to church for the first time on Sunday and was very good. Hopefully he will stay low maintenance...right now he just loves to be loved!

I got my first bath today! My mom was so happy that my belly button finally fell off! I was not sure what to think about it...the warm water was kind of nice.

Addie insisted on sharing her new blanket...I am sure she will use this picture as blackmail one day!
