7 months old

Grady man was 7 months old last week.  He still only has his bottom two teeth but it looks like one of his top two is making its way in.  He started talking last week.  He says a da da da...Bryan thinks he is saying da da to him...but I object.  He still smiles at anyone who looks his way.  He now sits up in his carseat and watches Addie while we are driving.  He eats baby food 3 times a day and has still not refused anything I have given him.  He loves to drink water out of my glass and can drink out of a straw.  He ate a little french fry the other day and LOVED it.  He loves puffs and can pick them up but can not quite get them in his mouth...although Addie gets to them before he can pick many of them up. He sits in his highchair to eat and seems to enjoy it!  He weighs 16 lbs 12 ounces and his 3 to 6 month clothes are getting a little too small.  He still does not roll on a regular basis but when I put him down on his stomach, he gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth.  When he gets excited, he kicks his feet back and forth.  He has found his feet and plays with them often.  He loves to sleep with me and got really spoiled when we were out of town and when he had an ear infection.    He is such a cuddler that I love sleeping with him but it is not ideal for us forever! I am paying the price for it right now and have to listen to him cry at night.  He usually takes one short nap in the morning and will take a longer one (1.5 - 2 hours) in the afternoon.  He goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 and sleeps about 12 hours.  He is still taking his reflux medicine but I am pretty sure he would be fine without it!  Last week I started eating a little dairy and did not notice any tummy issues.  I had his diaper tested on Friday and it was free of blood!  So I am eating a little more and he will be tested again in 2 weeks.  If he looks good, then I will be able to eat a lot more dairy!!!  Then I will really have to get back to the gym every day!!!

I can not even begin to express how special we think this little guy is.  He is so sweet and I can not imagine our lives without him.  Addie loves him and is extremely sweet to him.  She says she can't wait for him to be able to chase her around....we will see about that!

It has gotten a little harder to take his picture with his sign.  Today he ate it...hence the blue mouth.

Getting ready to crawl!  Look at those rolls!  Every picture of Grady these days has a string of drool in it!!!

The minute I start taking pictures of Grady, Addie wants to get "half naked" and take pictures too!

Our week

The Moms Club has a heart hunt every February.  It is similar to an Easter egg hunt but the children pick up foam hearts and get to trade them for candy when it is over.  The weather was awful on the scheduled day so we just had it last week.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Last Sunday, we got up and ready for church.  For the first time ever we were ready early and just waiting for Grady to wake up from his nap.  Go figure, he decided that was the morning to sleep more than 2 hours!  We missed church and decided to have a picnic at the park.  Addie loved it!

She and Grady were in the same swing...he seemed to like it.

Addie and Grady goofing around...

Addie all dressed up to go to a dinner party with us!  She thought it was pretty special that she got to go and Grady had to stay home!

6 months old

Grady is 6 months old.  He is eating cereal, sweet potatoes, peas, applesauce, bananas and avacado.  He eats real food twice a day. He has not refused any food yet.  He gets really excited when he sees me get his cereal ready and starts talking and kicking his feet.  He drinks water out of a sippy cup and loves it!  He still loves to sit in his bouncy seat and really loves his exercauser.  He will play on the floor for a little while but has not mastered rolling over yet so he gets frustrated!  He alternates between sucking his pacifier and his two fingers.  He is quite the cuddler and  I wish I was able to cuddle him all day long!  He frantically tries to get everything in his mouth and gets frustrated quickly when he can't.  He laughs at everything Addie does and will sit and watch her forever.  He can sit up by himself for 20 - 30 seconds and Addie thinks it is hilarious when he falls over!  He has beena  little naughty at night.  He goes to bed around 6:30 for the night but  usually wakes up around 4 because he can't find his pacifier.  Most nights, he goes right back to sleep...although I have stood and patted his bottom for over an hour a few nights.  Just this week he has started taking a 2 - 3 hour nap in the afternoon.  That has been really nice and keeps him happy until bedtime!  He has his two bottom teeth and thankfully he has not tested them out on me!  He is the smiliest, happiest baby.  Bryan and I can not believe half of a year has already gone by....makes me a little sad!

I always get at least one deer in the headlights face when I take pictures.  It is definitely one of my favorite looks!

Congratulations Kiki and T!!!  T popped the big question a couple of weeks ago and Addie and Grady are excited to have a new uncle!!!

Finally, a picture of Addie...another Daddy moment.....
