10.21.09

Last week, a friend came over to take some pictures of Addie and Grady.  She did a wonderful job and I thought I would share some of the pictures.  Bryan was not home and I was not planning on being in the pictures but I am glad that I was...somehow I am always the picture taker!  Grady is 10 weeks old and still "such a good boy" as Addie says.  We are off to San Antonio tomorrow.  Grady has an appointment for his two month shots and check up.  Mavis, Aiden and Harper are meeting us for the weekend!!!  I am so excited to see them again and meet Harper!

2 months!

My little man is 2 months old! I can not believe it. It makes me a little sad. I love all the baby stages but I especially love the first couple of months. It is so neat to watch them start to recognize us. I may be crazy but I loved those late night feedings when it was just me and Grady up in the night. I am excited about the months to come but a little sad that the first 2 are over! What is Grady up to at 2 months old?

*He smiles all of the time and "talks" - he says "ooooh"
*He is a GREAT sleeper! I thought Addie was great but this little guy slept from 8:30 last night until 7:30 this morning! He had to show his big sister up and sleep 11 hours one night before he was 2 months old! The rest of this week he slept from 7:30 to 5:30 or 6...no complaining here but there is something about 7:30 that makes it so much better!
*He loves his swing and will sleep in it in the morning while we get ready.
*He is sleeping in his big boy crib now. He is out of our room. The first night was very sad but I think we all slept better!
*He is still a great eater but does not want anything to do with a bottle.
*The pacifier makes him angry...he is going to be a finger or thumb sucker. He still tries really hard to get something in his mouth and finally settles for his fist.
*He loves his bath and never fails to "squirt" me and Addie while he is getting bathed! Addie thinks it is hilarious!
*He is still a cuddler! I hope I am typing this for many, many years!!!!
T-shirt day at school
Poor Grady passed out on our bed and then fell over...didn't phase him!
Not thrilled about this picture session!

Lots of smiles

These smiles melt my heart every day!

There is something about this little guy that I can not get enough of. When I set him down , he stares at me with his cuteness and waits for me to look at him...and then smiles. It is too much and it gets me and I pick him up again! I love every nuzzle, every grin, and every snuggle in the middle of the night. Those late night snuggles are beginning to disappear. This little guy slept from 8 last night until 5:30 this morning and then until 9! That was the longest stretch of sleep that I have had in many months!!!

My days are rough....

This little princess has become quite the little drama queen. She argues with 90% of the things that I say...and she is only 2! I told her today that we were going to the park and she whined, "I don't want to go to the park." What child does not want to go to the park??? So I said - ok we won't go and I hear, "But I waaaaaannnnt to go to the park." This afternoon when she went to take a nap, I read her stories and gave her kisses and hugs and she said "I love you mommy and you are my best friend." It was very sweet but last night we heard, " I need to wear that shirt to bed because it is my best friend." "I need more strawberries because they are my best friends." "I need to color in this coloring book because it is my best friend forever." So it makes me feel good to know that I am right up there with a shirt, strawberries and a coloring book.

10.1.09

Grady is seven weeks old and really smiling a ton! He smiles any time he hears Addie's voice. He is still very laid back and just loves to be cuddled and talked to. We went to the doctor last week and he weighed 10 pounds, 7 ounces. He is a little chunker!

Addie is still loving school and loves helping the teachers and the other kids in her class. One of the mothers told me that Addie brings toys to her daughter when she cries and tries to make her feel better! She has picked up a few bad habits at school such as yelling "no" and "stop" but for the most part, she is doing great! The other day we were eating lunch and Addie said, "Mommy I am going to be like you when I get big and Daddy will be like Buck." It is so funny to hear some of the things she comes up with! She also wanted to know if she was still a big sister and if Grady was going to stay with us since his mommy and daddy never came to get him!

We went to San Marcus over the weekend and got to see Pa-pa. It was bittersweet...I know how much my grandmother would have loved to meet Grady. This was the first time that Addie got up in Pa-pa's lap and really paid attention to him. He was really excited!

This is my cousin Brad's little girl, Brooklyn. She is absolutely adorable and Addie loved playing with her.

Addie got her hair cut for the 2nd time. This was a completely different experience from the first time. What a difference a couple of months makes! She loved it...probably because she got to look at herself in the mirror the whole time :)

6 weeks old

Hi all! I am six weeks old now. I am getting very strong and very good at lifting my head up. This week, I heard my daddy's voice and I turned to find him and gave him the biggest smile. I think it made daddy's day! I have gotten into a good routine of sleeping in my bed for three hours in the afternoon. This gives my mom about an hour of time to herself while both Addie and I are sleeping...I am not sure why she would want that??? Then she has a good amount of time to spend with Addie when she wakes up. I love my big sister...sometimes she squeezes me a little too tightly and when she talks to me, she talks really loudly. She calls me buddy and little guy and she gets really excited when she sees me after school! She says that one day I will "trace" her around the house and that we will be best friends! My mom and dad sure hope so! I think my mom took plenty of pictures this week. Check out my cheeks...mommy calls me chunky!

Mimi came to visit us this week.

Addie loves to read Grady books!

Addie fell off the couch and had her first bloody lip. It was a traumatic experience for both me and Addie!
