Almost 2...

On Monday, I had a doctor's appointment in San Antonio. After a 2 and a half drive to San Antonio on Sunday night, I saw the doctor for all of 2 minutes. The baby's heartrate was 150 (the same as Addie's at this point) and everything looked great. I can feel the baby moving a lot now. It is such a wonderful feeling...definitely my favorite part of being pregnant. If we ask Addie what is in my belly she will say there is a baby in there but she also thinks she has a baby in her belly...so not sure she gets it! She also says it is a boy baby! On Tuesday, we went to the zoo in San Antonio. She liked the animals ok but her favorite part was the child size potty and sink in the restroom. That was the part of the zoo that she did not want to leave! I am trying to take her to do something fun after every doctor's appointment. This pregnancy is going by so quickly and it has made me realize how little time I have left with just Addie. I am trying to take advantage of every minute and soak it all up!

Wow! It is so hard to believe that Addie will be 2 in a couple of days. It really seems like she was born yesterday! The past two years have been the most rewarding and exciting times of my life. I feel so blessed that I have had the opportunity to spend every day with Addie. I can not imagine doing anything else! I just wanted to share some of the funny things that Addie is doing these days.

**Whenever she gets nervous or sees someone she does not know, she hugs me and says, "Addie's mommy" and then looks at me and says, "Mommy's baby." It is so sweet and gets me every time.

**At night when she says her prayers, she prays for thunder??? She also prays for Nini every night. I have never known who Nini is but we pray for her/him. Just this morning she said hi Nini...I asked her who Nini was and she said Mommy Nini. I asked her if she was saying Niki and she said yes...so I guess she hears people call me Niki and prays for me....very sweet and cute. Charlie used to call me Nini when he was little!

**When she goes to bed, she hugs both me and Bryan and tells us..."love you too."

**She absolutely worships babies. She gets so excited anytime we see a baby and immediately wants to go and hug it. I used to hug her and say "Oh babu." So now she says, "Mommy...oh babu." It is really sweet. I hope this continues when we bring our baby home.

**For her birthday she has requested pink and blue cupcakes and juice. She helped me make the cupcakes and ate one of each!
**She loves picking out books at the library. Her favorites right now are Barney, BJ, and Baby Bop books.
**She has really loved swimming at the gym and she tells me she wants to go to the "pool water." I am so excited to take her swimming at the club this summer! She will really love it this year!

**She does not like to have dirt on her hands or feet. She will take her shoes off 100 times a day and say, "Mommy dirt."

**"Oh no," is one of her new favorite phrases and she says it all the time!
**She is not much of an eater these days but never passes up a piece of cheese...wonder where she gets that from?
**Addie is very sweet and loving but also has quite a temper when she does not get her way!

**Addie has realized at an early age that anything that is Mommy's is also Addie's. She loves to wait for me to get up from my seat and runs to get in it. She patiently waits for me to come back and then giggles and says, "Mommy's seat." She loves it! She will eat her food and then when I eat she proceeds to eat half of mine too. I can give her exactly what I have but for some reason mine is always better!

Here is a picture of Addie and Ben from her birthday last year and one from this past weekend. She still worships Ben and Charlie and talks about them all day long! We have to drive by their school every day and she says, "Ba Cha cool."

Always A New Day said...

Aw, I loved your post, especially about Nini! I can't wait for G to say cute little things, but then again, I never want him to be any bigger than he is now.

I wish we lived closer. We need a play date somewhere soon...maybe a summer Dallas trip to see the Stewarts?? :)
