3 years old

Last Sunday, Addie turned 3!  It is crazy to me.  I still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.  I had never felt so much love in my life...and it is amazing how much more I love her with every year.  We are so proud of the little girl she has become.  She is so polite to others and very concerned about everyone.  It is so amazing to hear her say please and thank you to others without us reminding her!  In this past year, Addie has gone from talking in broken sentences to constantly talking.  I am not quite sure that she goes a minute during the day without talking!  She has gone from sleeping in a crib to sleeping in a big bed.  She has started school and loves it.  She has made a lot of new friends and has had her first playdate without mommy there!  She has become such a wonderful helper and loves to do so.  She has learned that mommy and daddy go out without her but we always come back (she is still not fond of this!)  She says that she wants us to stay with her forever.  She has experienced a little boy picking on her and it broke her heart a little bit.  She has become extremely sassy and talks back to us quite often.  She now goes potty all by herself.  She prefers to not wear clothes when we are at home...and at the park and country club...embarassing at times.  She can get herself dressed and definitely has a say in what she wears every day.  She loves accessorizing and really enjoys putting on makeup.  She has a very vivid imagination and plays with imaginary friends often.  She has a ridiculous memory...much better than we do.  She can recite the majority of books in her room and reads them to Grady all of the time.  She has gained a little independence and is ok being away from mommy for a little while.  She has become quite the daddy's girl and has started to realize that he worships her...she gets away with quite a bit more with daddy!  Her world was turned upside down when she became a big sister.  We had a rough few weeks but then she became the best sister.  She loves Grady and I think he loves her more.  Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese and would eat it every night if we let her.  She loves fruit and will eat peas and grean beans.  She will not eat jelly or syrup.  She still loves milk and gets to take a juice box to school every day (definitely a highlight).  She loves to eat out and asks to eat at a restaurant often...and knows exactly where she wants to eat.  She tells us that she loves us out of the blue...I never knew how speacial that would be!  She loves to sleep with me and cries to do so often!  She loves animals and asks daddy for a puppy...hasn't happened yet!  She loves to watch tv but only gets to watch one or two shows a day.  Her current favorites are Max and Ruby, Dora, Diego and Wonder Pets.  When she grows up, she wants to be a blue flower.  She recognizes all of her letters and numbers and knows which letter many words start with.  She can count to 20 in English and Spanish.  She can sing hundreds of songs and sings very often.  Her favorite song now is "Stay Here Forever" by Jewel.  However, Addie calls it the baby song.  She knows all of the words and sings it all of the time.  She loves having tea parties, parades, birthday parties and all kinds of other celebrations for her stuffed animals and make believe friends.  She loves dressing up and often sports a tutu on top of her clothing.  She tattles on her dadddy...tells me that he he doesn't always stop at stop signs, tells me when he gives her candy and juice, and when he lets her watch more than her alotted shows!  She is quite a little princess and and we love being with her every day.

Princess girl...your daddy and I love you  more than you will ever know.  You make us laugh every day and we are constantly amazed by your sweetness, sassy attitude, and your generous spirit.  Thank you for making us smile!

Look who stood up!

Yesterday, Kristin and I were sitting in the playroom with Grady.  He was all over the place and then got over to a huge box of diapers.  He started grunting and before we knew it, my little lazy guy pulled himself up!!!  I think he was as surprised as we were!  This morning he pulled up on the coffee table and stood long enough for me to get a picture of him!

Addie's new bike

We got Addie a bike for her birthday.  She loves it!  It is so much easier to ride than her tricycle.  I wasn't letting her ride it much until her helmet came in.  It is supposed to come in today but we didn't want to miss bikes and trikes with Moms club today!

Swimming

We went to a swimming party this afternoon.  It was our first swim since last summer.  We all had a great time.  Addie was much more comfortable in the water than she was last year and of course Grady loved it.  He loved bouncing up and down and splashing around.  We are definitely ready for the pools to open next month!

8 months old

Grady is 8 months old!  He is a crazy little guy.  He absolutely worships Addie.  She is the only person that can really make him laugh...he goes crazy when she pays attention to him!  He is up on his hands and knees and is starting to get around.  He scoots his bottom into the air and pushed forward.  He is putting everything in his mouth...which is much more nerve racking this time around.  Addie is always leaving things laying around!  His third tooth popped through on Saturday.  It is on top...but I am not sure which tooth it is yet!  He still eats anything.  He loses his cool whenever he sees us eating and he does not have anything.  We went to Luby's last week and he ate macaroni and cheese and green beans and I am pretty sure he ate more than Addie did.  He has gained a lot of weight recently and is definitely getting some chunks!  He is sleeping 12 hours at night again but is still only sleeping in 45 minute increments during the day.  He is still a happy guy and will still happily go to anyone who wants to hold him!  That is the biggest difference between him and Addie!  It amazes me!  He fusses a bit when I walk out of the room but he stops if Addie walks into the room!   He is still a little snuggler but he is starting to want a little more independence :(  He is great at sucking out of a straw but is still having a little trouble holding his own sippy cup.  My favorite thing is when I go get him in the morning.  As soon as I open the door, his little feet start kicking and he starts giggling....so cute!  Here are a few pictures of the handsome guy!

Almost 3

Addie had her birthday "party" at school today.  They sang her happy birthday and we got to bring cupcakes.  She was so excited!!  I am not going to lie, I had a little tear in my eye!  I can not believe my little monkey girl is about to be three...that just seems so big!

Weekend

Our weekend was not too exciting.  I got some sorty of food poisoning and was sick Friday and Saturday.   It was not fun but I really did not get a chance to think about being sick because Addie had 2 birthday parties to attend on Saturday.  The first party we went to was a princess party.  I am sad that I did not get any pictures but Addie was so cute in her princess gear!  She had a great time at the party and was excited to play with the girls from her class!  Sunday morning, Addie's class sang in church.  Again, she did not sing but she smiled a lot this time....definitely an  improvement!  On Sunday afternoon, we took Addie to get ice cream. Grady got a taste of it and was furious when we took it away.  He is extremely laid back until you take food away from him!  He suddenly loses his cool...could be a little like his daddy!!!  Addie was very sweet and shared with him.  We then went to Home Depot and Grady was able to ride in the car with Addie.  She was excited until he tried to steer her wheel...not so happy then!

Easter fun

We had a wonderful Easter week!  Last weekend was my birthday and we had a great lunch with Bryan's family and then Bryan and I went to see Radney Foster that night with our friends.  My mom came that evening to spend the week with us and Kristin.  It was soooo nice having her here!  Not only did she clean, take care of kids, do the laundry, go to the store...she kept me entertained!  It was really nice to have someone to hang out with during the day!  We miss her already!!!

Addie loved decorating Easter eggs this year.  She was very creative and actually had some really pretty eggs!  Her hands were black by the time she was finished!

Addie left the Easter bunny a huge carrot the night before Easter and in the morning she was soooo excited to go and see if the Easter bunny had come to see her.  She was thrilled with the note he left her and her Easter basket!

The Easter bunny gave her some princess accessories!
She loved hunting eggs and was so excited to open them and see what was in each one.  On the way to church, we asked her if she enjoyed her Easter morning and this is what she said...
Addie - well i wish i could have my own easter egg hunt
Me and Bryan - you did have your own easter egg hunt...you collected so many eggs
Addie - well grady got eggs too and i just want to have my own
Bryan - Addie, Grady did not get to hunt for eggs...the Easter bunny just left him a pile of eggs
Addie - but he got to have eggs too
Me to Bryan - just wait until next year...Grady will be pushing her out of the way to get his own eggs

I think we have a spoiled one on our hands!!!!
Addie is bossing Grady and telling him that he can not take the grass out of his basket.
Now she is trying to take his basket away
Addie saying, "Grady fell down."  Hmmm I wonder why...
Checking out her eggs
Yea for princess snacks!!!
All dressed up for church!  So cute!
