Weekend

Addie, Grady and I went to San Antonio last week for Grady's two month doctor's appointment.  He is doing great and weighs 11 lbs 9 oz and is 23 inches long.  He is so much bigger than Addie was at this age!  Mavis, Aiden and Harper met us there for the weekend.  We stayed at my parent's house and had a great time!  Addie and Aiden are so funny together.  They are at the age where they talk to each other and they argue over NOTHING!  When we were driving in the car, we heard "my mommy...no my mommy...my brother...no my sister...my boots...no my shoes."  It went on and on and on.  They chased each other...rode on Grandpa's tractor..roasted hot dogs and made smores...went to a pumpkin patch...sang millions of songs...rode a pony...had TONS of pictures taken...and made us laugh more than we have laughed in a while!  When we were driving home on Sunday, I asked Addie what her favorite part of the weekend was and she told me, "sleeping with mommy!"  I loved sleeping with her too.  One of my mom's friends, Andrea, came from Flower Mound and took pictures of the kids....we had a great time with her and she is so talented!!!  Thanks Andrea for all of your time!  Here are a few of her pictures and some others from the weekend.

10.21.09

Last week, a friend came over to take some pictures of Addie and Grady.  She did a wonderful job and I thought I would share some of the pictures.  Bryan was not home and I was not planning on being in the pictures but I am glad that I was...somehow I am always the picture taker!  Grady is 10 weeks old and still "such a good boy" as Addie says.  We are off to San Antonio tomorrow.  Grady has an appointment for his two month shots and check up.  Mavis, Aiden and Harper are meeting us for the weekend!!!  I am so excited to see them again and meet Harper!

2 months!

My little man is 2 months old! I can not believe it. It makes me a little sad. I love all the baby stages but I especially love the first couple of months. It is so neat to watch them start to recognize us. I may be crazy but I loved those late night feedings when it was just me and Grady up in the night. I am excited about the months to come but a little sad that the first 2 are over! What is Grady up to at 2 months old?

*He smiles all of the time and "talks" - he says "ooooh"
*He is a GREAT sleeper! I thought Addie was great but this little guy slept from 8:30 last night until 7:30 this morning! He had to show his big sister up and sleep 11 hours one night before he was 2 months old! The rest of this week he slept from 7:30 to 5:30 or 6...no complaining here but there is something about 7:30 that makes it so much better!
*He loves his swing and will sleep in it in the morning while we get ready.
*He is sleeping in his big boy crib now. He is out of our room. The first night was very sad but I think we all slept better!
*He is still a great eater but does not want anything to do with a bottle.
*The pacifier makes him angry...he is going to be a finger or thumb sucker. He still tries really hard to get something in his mouth and finally settles for his fist.
*He loves his bath and never fails to "squirt" me and Addie while he is getting bathed! Addie thinks it is hilarious!
*He is still a cuddler! I hope I am typing this for many, many years!!!!
T-shirt day at school
Poor Grady passed out on our bed and then fell over...didn't phase him!
Not thrilled about this picture session!

Lots of smiles

These smiles melt my heart every day!

There is something about this little guy that I can not get enough of. When I set him down , he stares at me with his cuteness and waits for me to look at him...and then smiles. It is too much and it gets me and I pick him up again! I love every nuzzle, every grin, and every snuggle in the middle of the night. Those late night snuggles are beginning to disappear. This little guy slept from 8 last night until 5:30 this morning and then until 9! That was the longest stretch of sleep that I have had in many months!!!

My days are rough....

This little princess has become quite the little drama queen. She argues with 90% of the things that I say...and she is only 2! I told her today that we were going to the park and she whined, "I don't want to go to the park." What child does not want to go to the park??? So I said - ok we won't go and I hear, "But I waaaaaannnnt to go to the park." This afternoon when she went to take a nap, I read her stories and gave her kisses and hugs and she said "I love you mommy and you are my best friend." It was very sweet but last night we heard, " I need to wear that shirt to bed because it is my best friend." "I need more strawberries because they are my best friends." "I need to color in this coloring book because it is my best friend forever." So it makes me feel good to know that I am right up there with a shirt, strawberries and a coloring book.
