1.27.10

Addie is so funny these days about taking pictures.  She wants me to take pictures of her because I take pictures of Grady but she does not want to smile "normally."  So here are a few of the shots I have gotten of her this past week!  I love this one with Grady in the background.  Addie has been a little "spirited" the past few weeks.  She has been telling us no more often than not.  She argues over EVERYTHING.  She is also showing a little jealousy with Grady.  If I get Grady his pacifier, then she needs one to suck on.  If he cries and I pick him up then she whines and needs to be picked up too!  With that said, she is the sweetest little girl around.  She is constantly hugging us and tell us she loves us.  She calls me her best friend and tells me I am such a great "helper and sharer."  Her smile lights up a room.  She whines when her Daddy leaves for work in the morning and counts the hours until he comes home.  She throws us tea parties every day and sings happy birthday to all of her animals.  She is into cooking with her new food and is thrilled when we "enjoy it."  She told a little girl at school that she loved her jacket because it was soft like a puppy!  Her teachers loved it!  Last night she told me that dinner was delicious...it was the first time she has ever said that to me!  She is full of compliments all of the time and truly just wants people to be happy!  She asks me daily if she is our little princess girl...and she is...and so much more.

Addie has also been very into her makeup these days!  She insists on doing it herself and just admires herself in the mirror.  She gets really excited when I let her borrow my "fancy" makeup and she watches me put mine on and then puts it on herself.  The other day she told me that it was the "most exciting thing ever!"  It is so cute that these little things excite her so much.

On Sunday, Bryan saw Grady roll over from his back to his tummy.  I practice that rolling 100 times a day and still have not seen him do it on his own!  Go figure!!!  He has also started sucking on his pacifier.  He usually only uses it when he goes to sleep and has his fingers in his mouth the rest of the day.  He is eating cereal twice a day and eats applesauce at night.  He is still a happy guy.  He loves splashing in the bathtub, giggles anytime music comes on, is extremely patient, tries to grab everything and put it in his mouth, pulls my hair constantly, hiccups anytime he laughs, smiles at EVERYONE, loves to drink water from my glass, loves to bounce, has started to love his blankie, worships his big sister and gets the biggest grin on his face when his daddy walks into the room!  Grady is a little ray of sunshine and we are so lucky to be his parents!

Addie has also been into being a baby these days.  She has really been wanting me to carry her in my sling like I carry Grady.  So tonight I got her in there and Bryan took some pictures.  She loved it!!

My favorite time of the day is when Addie "plays" with Grady and talks to him.  His face lights up anytime she pays attention to him and it is so cute!!!  Here is another video of her making him laugh at lunch.

5 months old

It is hard to believe that Grady is already 5 months old.  How is he growing so quickly?  He is extremely curious of everything around him.  He is also at the stage where he stops eating to look around anytime he hears something.  He LOVES it when Addie talks to him or laughs...it makes him laugh too.  He loves to lay on the playroom floor and watch her play.  She "feeds" him food from her tea parties and he opens up and seems to enjoy eating air.  He is so happy and such a great baby.  He has given us a little bit of trouble at night but I was reading that it may be a sign that he is ready for cereal.  I did not plan on starting until he was 6 months old but the 4 am wake up calls every night changed that plan!  He ate it for the first time last night and did pretty well.  I tried again today and he ate a lot more and seemed to like it.  He slept a lot better last night too, so hopefully that was the problem!!!  He is not the greatest napper...not nearly as good as Addie was.  He only naps for 30 to 45 minutes at a time (unless I am laying with him...then he sleeps for 2 hours!!!)  He is happy during the day, so I guess he is getting what he needs!  He loves to be rocked and usually falls asleep that way.  He has been sucking on two fingers...like his sister.  He gets the hiccups every time he laughs.  He still refuses a bottle and we are still dairy free.  I eat a little bit every once in a while to see if anything happens...I never notice a difference so I am hoping at his 6 month appointment, Dr. Benbow will let me eat a little more!!!  I would love a bowl of queso right now!!!  He was been "standing" in his exersaucer the past few days and really likes it.  He is getting pretty good at grabbing the toys and turning around.

An Addie note...She told Bryan the other night that she needed me to come into her room.  He told her I was putting Grady to bed but that I would come when I finished.  She told him, "I need to tell mommy that I have a molar coming in and that I need some tylenol!"  She is a funny girl!  I wanted to tell her that she already has all of her molars but I didn't want to burst her bubble!!!  She has also renamed Chance's kitten.  He named her Roofie and Addie has decided that her name is Puddles.  She calls her Puddles and thinks we are crazy for calling her Roofie! She is still doing great at school and comes home singing new songs and with lots of stories every week!  She is such a sweet girl, a wonderful big sister and we could not be prouder of her!!!!

December

We had a lot of family and fun the last two weeks of December!  Addie had a Christmas program and party at school.  She loved having Bryan and me in her classroom for her party!  She did a great job at her  program...although she did not sing...she smiled the entire time!

We celebrated Christmas with Nana and Buck right before Christmas.  Addie loved helping everyone open their presents and was very sweet and thankful for the gifts she received...Bryan and I were very proud of her!

Addie is always kissing on Grady...I think it is so sweet!

All dressed up for church on Christmas Eve

That night Addie was so excited to leave cookies and milk for Santa.  The next morning Bryan and I got up at 7:30 and I made breakfast.  We made sure all of her things were situated and we waited and waited....and she FINALLY woke up at 10:00...with a fever.  She was excited to go see if Santa came...this is what she found....
a makeup table and play vegetables...just what she asked for...she was thrilled.  Santa also left cars for Grady...also what she wanted!
Addie loved the tutu that Grady gave her and Grady watched Addie open his gifts and smiled and giggled at each one.  It was really funny to watch!

We spent the day at Buck and Nanna's house.  Baboo, Grandpa and Kyle came and spent the night with us and then Mimi, Poppy and Pa pa came and stayed a couple of days.  We had a long week of Christmas and enjoyed being with so much family!  Addie and Grady have both been sick so it was nice to have distractions at home...since we were homebound so much!
