3.30.09

We went to San Antonio on Saturday to celebrate my birthday and G-ma's birthday. Addie did great in her panties the whole weekend. I was worried about the drive..but she was great! We had a great time spending time with my family and enjoyed several great meals! While in San Antonio, Addie was asking for sunglasses. I found her 2 pair while shopping on Sunday. Bryan and I thought she looked so cute wearing them and she was very proud!
We went back to the gym today...which was really nice for me! This was the first time Addie has been without me or Bryan since we started potty training. I was really nervous but when I went to pick her up, Ms. Daisy said that Addie walked to the bathroom door and asked for me. She asked Addie if she needed to go potty and Addie told her yes. This was a big first for us...so I was so excited! Addie was really excited to see her friends at the gym today...she was hugging and kissing all of the babies.
This afternoon, I took her to the gym pool to go swimming. She loved the water. She jumped in several times and did not want my help at all. She doesn't really realize that she can't swim! I am excited about all of the fun we will have at the pool this summer!

Homebound

Addie and I are homebound this week...we have officially started potty training. Today is day 3 and I see a slight glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. I was extremely naive at the beginning of this process and thought that my child would be the one who "got it" right away and we would be out and about in no time. Day one was ok, day 2 was absolutely miserable and we both shed tears, and today was back to ok. I am a little worried about tomorrow! As of right now, she has not had an accident in 8 hours...but she is out of my sight for the first time all day and playing with her daddy in his truck!

Although being homebound has tons of disadvantages, it has given us plenty of time to learn new things! Addie now knows all of her colors and points them out all of the time. She is also almost able to count from 1 to 10. It is really cute to hear her say the numbers....I'll try to get it on video soon!

Here are a couple of pictures from the past few weeks. Addie loves to ride the 4 wheeler with daddy and she also loves wearing a coat????? The last one is from yesterday in her big girl panties. Like I said, it was a rough day...no smiles!

Baby News

I am about 4 1/2 months pregnant now and we went to the doctor today for our big sonogram. Unfortunately, Bryan stood his ground and we did not find out the sex of the baby. We were at the doctor from 9:30 until noon and Addie was wonderful....except she was very nervous that they were hurting me! She kept the nurses and waiting room laughing...I went to use the restroom and she asked Bryan, rather loudly, if mommy went poo poo. Bryan, of course, laughs and has her repeat it 100 times. So when I walk back into the room, everyone is giggling at me. And it happened again when I left to go get my blood drawn. Why do I feel like I am raising two little kids???? The baby looked great...10 fingers and 10 toes and long legs! We also watched "it" have the hiccups while I was getting the sonogram. Here are 2 pictures from today.
In the second picture, the baby's mouth is open...it was opening and closing. Also in the second picture, there are two black circles in the belly. The one on top is the heart and the bottom one is the stomach. The stomach is full...which means the baby is swallowing amniotic fluid...which is good. I told Bryan that I think the baby is a boy...he refuses to take a guess. Leave a comment and tell me what you think it is!!!

Silly Addie

On Wednesday, we had a thunderstorm that woke Addie up from her nap. I was getting ready for a meeting and was listening to her on the monitor and every time it would thunder, Addie would say, "Whoa or wow!" It was really cute. When I got her up, I took her to the window and showed her the rain and told her the booming was thunder. She started saying thunder and I thought it was so cute! Also, at the end of the video when she starts to take off her diaper, she will not look at me because she is embarrassed. It is so funny to see the things that embarrass her these days!

3.4.09

Today Addie and I made peanut butter cookies. The recipe said it would make 24 cookies....however, everytime I handed Addie a ball of dough to put on the cookie sheet, she took a bite out of it. So I had to add extra dough to every cookie and we ended up with 18! Don't worry, I am not going to share these cookies with anyone! Addie was very proud of her cookies!

Last weekend Kristin was here visiting Chance (and us!). She spent the day with us on Friday and Addie could not get enough of her. Kiki was the only one who could play with her, get her out of her car seat, and she was the recipient of the hand grab and please all day. I am sure she left exhausted! Here are two cute pictures of when Addie decided to change hair accessories with Kiki. Very cute!
