12.14.09

Grady was 4 months old last Monday!  He is growing so quickly...I can not believe it has already been 4 months...time goes so quickly!  He is still an angel.  He sleeps from 7 at night until 7 in the morning.  He has to sleep on the go a lot and seems to be ok with it!  Lately I have been laying him on the floor in the playroom and he will rotate himself around so that he can watch Addie.  By the time he gets to where he can see her, she moves and he has to start again.  It is so cute to watch.  Most days, she loves reading to him or sharing her toys with him.  In this picture, she is sharing baby horse with him (which is huge!)

He loves his bouncy seat and gets a HUGE smile anytime I put him in it!  Addie has been sleeping late the past few days and I have been bringing Grady back to bed with  me after he wakes up.  He will eat and then go back to sleep for an hour or 2...it has been so nice and he is such a great snuggler!  We go back to Dr. Benbow on Friday.  I am really curious about his weight...he has gotten quite chunky!  He is wearing 3 to 6 month clothes but I'm not sure how much longer he will be in them!!!

Right before Thanksgiving, Addie had her friend Sophia over to play.  We did a couple of crafts and made these turkeys.  They turned out really cute and the girls had a great time!

We finally got our tree decorated!  I thought we would make a fun night out of it and drink hot chocolate and have treats.  I was really excited and told Addie and she said, "I don't like hot chocolate."  I think I have the only child in the world who won't drink hot chocolate.  So I went to the store and bought sparkling grape juice and told her we were drinking a fancy christmas drink...she did not like that either.  So she drank water and ate a candy cane!  This morning when she got up, she immediately went to the tree and said, "Oh my goodness!"  She was so proud and so cute!

Here are Addie and Daddy putting the cross she made at school on the tree.

Each year we get Addie a hand painted photo ornament.  I love it because we can look back at Christmas pictures from the previous years.  Here is Addie with her ornaments from her first 2 Christmases.

Look what Addie made this morning!  She had a great time and did a wonderful job!  She decorated it by herself...and I did catch her squirting the icing into her mouth at one point!

Here are a few pictures from last week.  Grady is 17 weeks old!  He is giggling a lot more and has started grabbing at the toys above him when he is laying down.  He is still desperately trying to suck on a finger or thumb...I never thought I would be happy to have another child suck on fingers but now I am ready for him to pick something so that he can soothe himself!!!  He has not been spitting up as much this past week...I am hoping that means he is outgrowing his tummy issues!  All I want for Christmas is some dairy..ha ha! Addie has been so funny lately!  When she gets in trouble she asks, "Are you happy?"   We will tell her,"No it makes us sad when you do not listen."  Then she asks, "What can I say to make you happy?"  Too funny!  She also says, "Yes ma'am mommy" when she knows she is in trouble.  I have a hard time keeping a straight face!

Santa

Remember this picture?

We took Addie and Grady to see Santa over the Thanksgiving holiday and they did great!  When Addie saw Santa, she asked, "Santa where are your reindeer?"  Then she told him that she wanted some vegetables for her kitchen, some cars for Grady and a tv for daddy.  I think Daddy has been coaching her a bit!  Here is the picture from this year.

Poor Grady

A couple of weeks ago, we were driving to a friend's house and Grady was crying in the backseat (unusual unless he is hungry).  I could not see him to figure out what the problem was...then when I went to get him out of the backseat, I found this...poor guy!

Dressed for church

I thought both Addie and Grady looked so cute dressed for church today..so I had to take a couple of pictures!!!

14 weeks old

Mr. Grady is 14 weeks old and so cute!  He is rolling over more and more from his tummy to his back...but we still have not seen it!  He is very scared of loud noises...he does NOT like to sit in the bath tub with the water running.  (On a side note, Addie is currently licking herself to get clean like the kitties do!)  He is on a great schedule and is happy most of the time.  He loves to lay on his tummy and look all around.  He usually follows the sound of Addie's voice or will try and look up at the tv screen.  Donna and I went shopping this past weekend in SA and found the most adorable little boy clothes for winter.  I am so excited!!!!  I love all things little girl but boy stuff is awfully cute too!

Addie is so excited about Christmas!  We listen to Christmas music all day and she already has several of the songs memorized...we may have a singer on our hands!  She sings to Grady when he cries..which only aggravates him more...but she thinks it helps!  I am really excited about all of the Christmas fun that we will have this year!
Here are a couple of Grady pictures...will post some of Addie later in the week!

3 months old

Grady is 3 months old!  He is so smiley and happy!  We heard his first true giggle last week and it is so cute!  His eyes get very watery and he gets the hiccups (like his big sister!)  He has started going to the gym with me and Addie.  They were so happy to see Addie again and they think Grady looks just like Addie did when she first started going.  He is still very cuddly and I wish I could hold him and snuggle him all day long!  He is holding his head up really well and will smile at anyone who looks his way...definitely a flirt!  On to Addie...this morning when Bryan was getting her in the car to go to the gym, she asked where I was.  He told her that I would be in the car in a minute and she asked..."Mommy is just getting everything situated and then she will be here?"  She also asked me this afternoon if there will be grass at the beach when we go next summer.  We have not talked about the seaweed "grass" in ages.  She is quite the helper at school and continues to shine.  She sings songs ALL DAY LONG and it does not take her long to memorize them!  She is on to Christmas music right now and we sing jingle bells and rudolph constantly!  She can now ride her tricycle by herself and is very proud!  She has also shown a little bit of a naughty side lately.  Sometimes I have to remind myself that she is only 2 and take a deep breath!  Her favorite part of every day is when Daddy comes home.  They go out in the backyard ard race...and Addie always wins!  She is a ball of energy and if she is awake, her mouth is moving...and we would not have it any other way!

Here are a few pictures of Grady's 3 month photoshoot!

Grady watching his feet..was fascintated with them moving!

Guess who rolled over???

Are you talking about me?

Grady started crying at 3:30 this morning..which is unusual...I went into his room and his was squirming around on his back!  His eyes were wide open and I imagined he was thinking "what just happened????"  Addie rolled over from her tummy to her back one day shy of 3 months old, so Grady has her beat by a few days!  I have to keep track of this because I am sure it will be important later in life!  Grady is 12 weeks old and is still so sweet and laid back.  He has not been sleeping well during the day (15 minutes at a time) but I guess he makes up for it at night.  Addie is still sweet to him most of the time.  When he cries, she tells him, "Don't cry buddy..I will take care of you."  She loves for Grady to sit in her bean bag and she reads him stories.  It is cute to hear her ask him the same questions that I ask her when I read to her.  Anytime he is in his swing, she brings him a blanket and a toy so he will have something to play with.  She is so sweet and she truly can not wait until he is big enough to play with her!

Addie's class went on a hayride last week and had some pictures taken outside.  She had a great time and was so excited that Grady and I came to ride on the hayride with her!  It was so cute to see her face light up when she saw us!

Halloween

Addie had a great Halloween!  It was so fun to  watch her trick or treat!  This was the first year that she really cared about it and she LOVED going  from house to house and especially loved getting all of the candy.  She was dressed as a geisha girl but she said she was a princess.  We went to the store and she got to pick out some sparkly makeup to put on and she thought she was something special.  She looked awfully cute.  Grady did not dress up this year...he spent the majority of the night in the sling so I am glad I did not buy him a costume.  Here are a couple of pictures from last night and Addie and Bryan carving a pumpkin.

Addie found this bandana this afternoon and said it was her sling for her babies.  She wanted to wear it like I wear mine and then she gave all of her small animals a turn riding in the sling.  It was really cute!
Addie got in bed with Grady the other morning and I thought it was so cute!  I am not sure that Grady enjoyed it as much as Addie did!

Weekend

Addie, Grady and I went to San Antonio last week for Grady's two month doctor's appointment.  He is doing great and weighs 11 lbs 9 oz and is 23 inches long.  He is so much bigger than Addie was at this age!  Mavis, Aiden and Harper met us there for the weekend.  We stayed at my parent's house and had a great time!  Addie and Aiden are so funny together.  They are at the age where they talk to each other and they argue over NOTHING!  When we were driving in the car, we heard "my mommy...no my mommy...my brother...no my sister...my boots...no my shoes."  It went on and on and on.  They chased each other...rode on Grandpa's tractor..roasted hot dogs and made smores...went to a pumpkin patch...sang millions of songs...rode a pony...had TONS of pictures taken...and made us laugh more than we have laughed in a while!  When we were driving home on Sunday, I asked Addie what her favorite part of the weekend was and she told me, "sleeping with mommy!"  I loved sleeping with her too.  One of my mom's friends, Andrea, came from Flower Mound and took pictures of the kids....we had a great time with her and she is so talented!!!  Thanks Andrea for all of your time!  Here are a few of her pictures and some others from the weekend.
