1.29.09

Here are a couple of pictures from today. Addie has gotten very good at putting her own shoes on and now has a preference on what shoes she wears. Of course, she always wants the shoes that are too small and are not really winter shoes...but they are her feet right? She also wants to read to herself these days. She will not let me read her a book...she just tells me "mine" and she flips through the pages. She says the names of the characters and I guess she thinks she is reading! The third picture is of her whistling. She does make a sound but I am not quite sure it is a whistle....although she thinks it is! It has gotten a little harder to get a good picture because she says "mine dice" whenever she sees the camera...which means the camera hurts her eyes...drama drama drama!

1.25.09

Bryan and I received a roomba for Christmas and in true Addie fashion, she is "scared" of it. She fake cries and whines the entire time it is running. I happened to catch one of these episodes with my camera! As you can tell, it is obviously very traumatic!
As soon as it stopped....
Addie is completely obsessed with her baby dolls. She currently has two favorites and she has them with her all the time. She feeds them, burps them, wraps them up in blankets, kisses and hugs them, rocks them, and today we took them on a walk in their stroller. They ride in the car with us (bottles and all) but we have to leave the babies in the car to "take a nap" when we get out. It is very cute to watch her take care of them! Today I caught her cleaning their ears with a q-tip...I couldn't get a picture! Here are a few pictures of her and the babies.

Addie loves to find pecans in the front yard and have her Daddy open them for her.

5 Little Monkeys

Addie's favorite song these days is 5 Little Monkeys. We listen to it over and over everytime we are in the car. The last line of the song is, "Mama called the doctor and the doctor said...Put those monkeys back in bed." Addie loves that part and now she says it after they say it...it doesn't sound anything like it but it is awfully cute! I am sorry that the video is sideways...I have tried to fix it and can not figure it out!

Baby Weston

We saw our new baby for the first time today and it was very exciting! "b", as Chance has named it, was moving his/her arms and legs around wildly (probably due to the chocolate filled donut I had for breakfast!) Addie would not even look at the monitor because she was terrified of Dr. Cox! She thought for sure that he was going to check her out next! After my appointment, we went to see Dr. Benbow for Addie's checkup. She started screaming and clinging on to me with a death grip as soon as we walked into the exam room. She weighs 24 lbs and is 32.125 inches long. She is still in the 25 to 30 percentile for her height and weight. She continued to scream throughout the entire exam and was happy as can be when Dr. Benbow left the room....what a drama queen!

Addie sliding

This is Addie at the park today. If you notice, after I say, "yea addie"...she toots her own horn and says, "yea addie" too!

We had playgroup at our house today and someone brought some brightly colored cupcakes. After everyone left, I went into Addie's room to grab something (I was gone all of 10 seconds) and came back into the kitchen to find this...
Addie pulled the plate of cupcakes off of the island and had already licked the icing off of two of them. She was extremely proud of herself when I walked in. It was hilarious!!!
Addie loves the bath crayons that Santa put in her stocking! She is very serious about her writing and "writes" our names while she is in the bath. She is also good about using the washcloth to erase the mess when she is finished...which is nice!

Addie and I made cupcakes to take over to Russell and Dacia's house the other day. She was actually a good helper! She loved holding the mixer but I think her favorite part was licking the spoon...while talking on the phone of course!
