3 years old

Last Sunday, Addie turned 3!  It is crazy to me.  I still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.  I had never felt so much love in my life...and it is amazing how much more I love her with every year.  We are so proud of the little girl she has become.  She is so polite to others and very concerned about everyone.  It is so amazing to hear her say please and thank you to others without us reminding her!  In this past year, Addie has gone from talking in broken sentences to constantly talking.  I am not quite sure that she goes a minute during the day without talking!  She has gone from sleeping in a crib to sleeping in a big bed.  She has started school and loves it.  She has made a lot of new friends and has had her first playdate without mommy there!  She has become such a wonderful helper and loves to do so.  She has learned that mommy and daddy go out without her but we always come back (she is still not fond of this!)  She says that she wants us to stay with her forever.  She has experienced a little boy picking on her and it broke her heart a little bit.  She has become extremely sassy and talks back to us quite often.  She now goes potty all by herself.  She prefers to not wear clothes when we are at home...and at the park and country club...embarassing at times.  She can get herself dressed and definitely has a say in what she wears every day.  She loves accessorizing and really enjoys putting on makeup.  She has a very vivid imagination and plays with imaginary friends often.  She has a ridiculous memory...much better than we do.  She can recite the majority of books in her room and reads them to Grady all of the time.  She has gained a little independence and is ok being away from mommy for a little while.  She has become quite the daddy's girl and has started to realize that he worships her...she gets away with quite a bit more with daddy!  Her world was turned upside down when she became a big sister.  We had a rough few weeks but then she became the best sister.  She loves Grady and I think he loves her more.  Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese and would eat it every night if we let her.  She loves fruit and will eat peas and grean beans.  She will not eat jelly or syrup.  She still loves milk and gets to take a juice box to school every day (definitely a highlight).  She loves to eat out and asks to eat at a restaurant often...and knows exactly where she wants to eat.  She tells us that she loves us out of the blue...I never knew how speacial that would be!  She loves to sleep with me and cries to do so often!  She loves animals and asks daddy for a puppy...hasn't happened yet!  She loves to watch tv but only gets to watch one or two shows a day.  Her current favorites are Max and Ruby, Dora, Diego and Wonder Pets.  When she grows up, she wants to be a blue flower.  She recognizes all of her letters and numbers and knows which letter many words start with.  She can count to 20 in English and Spanish.  She can sing hundreds of songs and sings very often.  Her favorite song now is "Stay Here Forever" by Jewel.  However, Addie calls it the baby song.  She knows all of the words and sings it all of the time.  She loves having tea parties, parades, birthday parties and all kinds of other celebrations for her stuffed animals and make believe friends.  She loves dressing up and often sports a tutu on top of her clothing.  She tattles on her dadddy...tells me that he he doesn't always stop at stop signs, tells me when he gives her candy and juice, and when he lets her watch more than her alotted shows!  She is quite a little princess and and we love being with her every day.

Princess girl...your daddy and I love you  more than you will ever know.  You make us laugh every day and we are constantly amazed by your sweetness, sassy attitude, and your generous spirit.  Thank you for making us smile!
